
Sakhar Druk was a Tibetan painter native of Kham (present day Eastern Tibet and Sichuan area) and is a representative figure of the Karma Gardi school of painting that was popular in the Kham region.
In 1926, he supervised the restoration of Palpung Monastery in Sichuan. On the upper and lower skylight, he painted outstanding murals of female deities, as well as the Eight Living Buddhas of the Karma Kagyu school surrounding Vajrapani.
