
Wang Xuezhong is a painter and calligrapher also known as Yebo or Zhubo Shanqiao. Born into a family of calligraphers and poets from Tengzhou, Zaozhuang, he enjoyed painting since a young age and often visited famous landscapes and scenic spots to sketch from nature. He was instructed by Xu Beihong and Li Keran and later engaged in art education. Highly adept in painting, Wang intermixes styles from the East and the West in his works. Among his positions, Wang has served as dean of the Art Graduate School at Tianjin University, vice dean of the Yanhuang Painting Academy, honorary director of the Art Exhibition Center at Tianjin University, and visiting professor for the School of Art and Design at the University of Tsukuba in Japan. In addition, he has been honored with several awards for his achievements and contributions to the arts.
Wang’s paintings include the mural of Prosperous Four Seasons now kept at the Ueno Train Station in Tokyo, Japan. His calligraphic works include Quotes of Master Zibo, and the stele inscription of Dharmapadavadana Sutra displayed on the Stele Wall at Fo Guang Shan Monastery in Kaoshiung, Taiwan. Written works by Wang include Synopsis in Calligraphy, Collection of Calligraphy, Painting and Poetry by Wang Xuezhong.
