Yezhou

CHINA, Shanghai; Ming to Qing dynasty

Also known as Piaoxian or Xueyu, Yezhou was a painter and monk. Talented in creating floral paintings, he devoted himself to Buddhist painting during his later years. In his paintings of Buddha images, the depictions of floral branches are known to be particularly exquisite.
