Horizontal Inscribed Board - Great Compassion Hall written by Leguo

Leguo had an original name of Lu Xingling and was also known as Bingnan. Before he renounced in 1939, Leguo was a philanthropist who promoted Buddhism and built the famous Lengyan Temple in Liaoning. After renunciation, he began traveling and giving teachings on various sutras. Leguo later went to Hong Kong, Taiwan, and various locations in Southeast Asia to build viharas and temples. He became respected as one of the Three Elders of the Northeast by the Buddhist community in Hong Kong.
Leguo’s collection of written work includes Teaching Notes on the Heart Sutra, Key Notes on the Diamond Sutra, and Key Notes on the Amitabha Sutra. His calligraphy includes the inscription of Great Compassion Hall on the horizontal inscribed board above the front entrance of Kwun Yum Temple in Hong Kong.
