Silk
This silk banner was made in the 8th century and measures 301 cm high and 29 cm wide. The topmost part of the banner is in the form of a triangle, with a dark brown border and a ribbon hanging down on either side. It is made from very fine silk with flowers and red petals against a yellowish brown background. The following three silk panels have images of flowers set against different backgrounds of black, orange, and yellow. Beneath the third panel, there are long silk strips which are over half the length of the banner; they are in contrasting colors with leaf patterns.
