Nasik Cave 18: Cave Entrance

INDIA, Maharashtra, Aurangabad

The entrance to this cave is flanked by door guardians and above the arched doorway is a large caitya window. The entrance and facade are embellished with intricately carved relief images of stupas, columns, lintels, balustrades latticework, and other decorative architectural elements. Four false caitya windows with arched frames are at the top, and on either side of the entrance are staircases leading to Caves 17 and 20.
