CHINA, Sichuan, Guangyuan; Tang dynasty

Located on the south side outside the cave entrance, this warrior is carved with an imposing, dynamic stance and a fierce expression. The figure has a topknot, glaring eyes, and a frowning mouth. The neck is adorned with a round spiked necklace and the upper body is bared, revealing a muscular build.
