This mural is painted in the lower register on the east wall of Dharma Transmission Hall in Yong’an Temple. A female heavenly being stands on the left, holding a pole with a red banner attached at the top. Six monks are shown in the painting. The characters on the banner read “deceased monks.” The monks on the right are dressed in colorful monastic robes covered with vivid patterns. Some have a light complexion and a gentle appearance, while others have dark skin, beards, and wide eyes. They stand close together, appearing to converse with one another. A youthful monk carrying a stick stands in front of the group. The clothing folds are painted using the orchid and iron-wire drawing techniques. Yellow flames rise in the background, adding brightness to the mural.
