Wang Tuozi

CHINA; Tang dynasty

Wang Tuozi was a painter from the same era as Wu Daozi, another renowned Tang dynasty painter. Skilled in illustrating landscapes with his own style, he specialized in depicting the scenery of remote and reclusive living. He painted the Sea of Mount Sumeru mural in Ganlu Temple in Jiangsu, and together with Niuzhao, he created a landscape mural at Chongfu Temple in Shaanxi. These paintings were recorded in the Records of Famous Paintings from the Tang Dynasty, and Famous Paintings in History.
