Prayer Beads

THAILAND

It is thought that these glass prayer beads were made in northern Thailand and were collected by Norwegian explorer Carl Bock, who stated that they were placed in a secret cave as an offering by a monk.
Normally the number of chanting beads in such a string is 108; however, this set consists of 116 beads, of which three hang down at the end. The beads are bright blue and end with a red and green decorative tassel.
