The Bodhisattvas are located on either side of the main statue within the Avalokitesvara Pavilion. Although superficially similar to each other, they differ in many details of design and appearance. They stand in a pronounced tribhanga posture with the advanced foot off to the side on a separate lotus pedestal. This position gives the body an elegant curve, but the head is only a little inclined. The hands may once have held attributes. A jewel remains in the hand of one of the figures. A five-Buddha crown encircles the head from which hair differently braided falls to the shoulders. The slender bodies wear clothes in different styles. One figure wearing something similar to a breastplate. Peonies and other floral patterns cover these accoutrements and the belted skirts.
