This image is located on the upper right side of the back (west) wall of Cave 280. It illustrates Prince Siddhartha’s arrival in the world as a Bodhisattva riding an elephant. The price wears a crown and flowing stoles, and his head is encircled by a red nimbus. In front of the prince are six heavenly musicians. Two warriors support the four feet of the elephant, while another warrior flies through the air above them, leading the way. The flowing lines of the clouds give a sense of movement, suggesting that the prince has traveled a great distance.
